Darci Lynne has proven again that her voice is pure magic.
This June, the America’s Got Talent Season 12 Winner (and ventriloquist legend) posted an enchanting video of herself singing a medley of Disney songs, and she sounded like a complete princess while doing so.
The first song she chose was “Part of Your World” from The Little Mermaid, where she used some heavenly vibrato. She then quickly transitioned to “A Whole New World” from Aladdin, and reached some impressive high notes. When she sang “Colors of the Wind” from Pocahontas, she seamlessly flipped between powerful belting and softer tones. For her final song, she sang “Reflection” from Mulan and held out the most gorgeous sustained note.
This isn’t the only time Darci Lynne has wowed us with her voice. On August 11, Lynne posted an Instagram video of herself singing “What Was I Made For” by Billie Eilish, and her vulnerable rendition will have you reaching for the tissues.
“I’ll say it again, this is a beautifully written song,” Lynne wrote in the caption. (Listen to her cover here.)
Darci Lynne talks about what winning AGT has taught her
When Lynne was going on her tour titled Darci Lynne and Friends: Fresh Out of the Box Tour, she opened up to The Oklahoman, a newspaper based in her hometown of Oklahoma City, about how far she’s come since she’s won Season 12 of AGT.
“Going on AGT, I just really wanted to inspire others to try ventriloquism because it’s such an old art. I wanted other people to try it, and I ended up meeting that goal – because these tours and these kids are living proof of that,” she told the outlet. “I see lots of kids bringing their puppets to the shows. And some of them will come back to meet and greet and I get to meet them, I get to meet their puppets, and they say that I inspired them to do it. So, it’s really awesome to see that.”
