Acts from the world of music, dance and comedy have been battling it out his week to try and win over Simon Cowell and the rest of the Britain’s Got Talent judges.

But it seems that one act in particular set the stage on fire, quite literally, during the fourth live semi-final on Friday evening.

He came in the form of magician James More, who insisted illusionists that had previously auditioned on the show have been given a bad name.

But he certainly managed to swing things around as he was met with rapturous applause following his impressive trick.

James could be seen in a shadow struggling to release himself before a second later the fire dropped into the box and he had disappeared fro the cage – only to turn up smiling in all his hunky glory behind Simon Cowell.

An astounded David Walliams told him: β€˜Wow, amazing reaction. You’re the fresh, young, sexy face of magic! We needs some magic on the final of this show.’

And he also won over the girls, with Alesha gawping: β€˜Unbelievable, I’m genuinely blown away by that. How on earth did you do that?!’

A stunned Amanda added; β€˜We have never, ever had a reaction like that about a magician on this show ever. It was sexy, it was cool, there was no lycra, no sequins.’

And even Simon seemed blown away: β€˜Last night we arguably had the worst magician on the history of Britain’s Got Talent and tonight we had the best. It’s literally unbelievable. I loved the whole presentation. To be this close up and to not know how you did it, congratulations.’

But he wasn’t the only act to wow the judges, leading Simon to admit this round would be tough as five of the acts could be good enough for the final, despite there only being space for two.

Singing 11-year-old β€˜diva’ Asanda Jezile was also one of the stand out acts, with Cowell even telling her: β€˜O.M.G.Β I meas seriously, forget about your age. It just doesn’t matter if you’ve got it, you’ve got it.

β€˜This is good for someone who’s 30 or 40. You’ve got a great attitude, I mean for me the best of the night.’
