Police officer surprised a 7-year-old boy selling lemonade with a pair of brand new sneakers for school

Who doesn’t like a nice old-fashioned lemonade stand?

There’s nothing like coming across a child happily selling you a cup of ice cold lemonade on a beautiful sunny day.

A young boy named Landen was recently accosted by a police officer while selling lemonade and cookies near his home. The boy’s grandmother recorded their interaction and uploaded it on Facebook.

“Just saying we are so quick to put down how BAD we get treated sometimes but I have to say i was blessed by officer J Perez Ansonia PD.”

Officer Perez of the Ansonia Police Department in Connecticut spoke with Landen and asked him what he planned to do with the money he made from selling lemonade.

Landen explained that he needed to acquire blue sneakers for school.

The two finished their chat, and Officer Perez left.

Officer Perez returned to Landen’s lemonade stand a short time later, this time with a pair of blue sneakers.

Landen was ecstatic, to say the least.

“He made my baby’s day yesterday and not only that, he made him feel like a king,” Wendelyn Narvaez said of Officer Perez.

Days later, Narvaez posted a photo of Landen happy wearing his new sneakers.

Ansonia Police Chief Wayne Williams responded to Perez’s act of compassion, noting that police like him “are the types of officers that we are all looking to hire.”

This is really true. We often hear about the negative things that police officers do, but not the positive things. This was a very sweet gesture.

Please share if you would like to hear more tales about police officers doing good in their communities.
