‘The View’: Meghan McCain Labels Jeanine Pirro As Worst Guest

Meghan McCain blasted Judge Jeanine Pirro, claiming she was at the top of her list as the “worst guest” she ever encountered on The View. Pirro also has her own take on the incident, which she is proclaiming as “the truth.”

After exiting The View as a cohost, Meghan McCain wrote a memoir titled Bad Republican, which details her four-year stint on the ABC talk show. One of the more salacious claims involves Judge Jeanine Pirro and her 2018 interview, which led McCain to declare Pirro was the “worst guest” by far.

As most people remember, Pirro allegedly was thrown off the show by host Whoopi Goldberg after Goldberg became enraged by the judge proclaiming she suffered from Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS). “Did you just point at me?” Goldberg asked to clarify who the judge accused of TDS. “Yes,” Pirro responded. “Let me tell you what I have,” Goldberg stated, “I’m tired of people starting a conversation with ‘Mexicans are liars and rapists.’” For the next 90 seconds, Goldberg blasted Pirro until she ended it.

“Say goodbye. I’m done!” Goldberg said to Pirro. “Wow,” the judge responded as the show cut to commercial. According to McCain’s memoir, that’s when “Pirro allegedly hit her on the chest with her tossed microphone,” and the judge left the table cursing. “Who says c—k sucker, much less shouts it 1,000 times?” McCain wrote in her book. “It’s the dumbest word. I heard Whoopi yelling at her to get the hell out of the building.”

McCain’s memoir also gave an assessment of the guests during her four-year stretch on The View and said Judge Jeanine “pales in comparison” to any other guest as the “worst.” However, there are two sides to every story, and Judge Jeanine’s recollections don’t match Meghan McCain’s or Whoopi Goldberg’s. Reps for Goldberg claimed she did not throw Pirro off the show as there was one more segment left, even though it appeared to most viewers that the judge was clearly told to say “goodbye.”

Pirro claimed the first segment was fine. However, after they got back from a commercial break, the tone changed. “Then, it was no holds barred,” the judge said. “Whoopi got angry, and what the viewing audience didn’t see was they popped up the cover of my book [which only hosts can see], she pushed off the desk, unplugged her mic, and then stormed off the set. And I’m thinking I don’t think the segment is over but she just left the set, so I guess it’s over.”

Judge Jeanine never mentioned any altercation with Meghan McCain. She does recall walking off the stage and down a flight of stairs, where she claims Goldberg was waiting for her. “So, I say, ‘look Whoopi I have spent my whole life fighting for victims,’” Pirro explained. “You know because we were talking about rape victims on the show, and she said to me, she got right up in my face, and says, ‘F-you,’ and I say, ‘did you just say F-you?’ And she says, ‘get the F out of this building, get the F out!’”

Judge Jeanine PirroPirro also accused Goldberg of spitting at her while she threw her out of the ABC studio. “She was screaming at me and I’m walking out of the building like a dog who was just ticked off,” Pirro said. “So forget about what she did to me on set, which was horrific in itself, but the treatment by Whoopi Goldberg is typical of what is going on in this country. The Left, they invite you on to talk, but they don’t let you talk, they throw you off the show and then throw you out of the building.”

Goldberg made a statement to the audience about the incident. “Welcome back. So, you saw me do something that I rarely do, I rarely lose my cool,” Goldberg said. “I’m not proud of it, I don’t like it. But, I also don’t like being accused of being hysterical, because that’s one of the things I try not to be on this show. So. Have a great day.”

Goldberg went on to deny that she threw the judge out of the building, even though McCain claimed that’s exactly what happened in her memoir. Additionally, Meghan publically sided with Whoopi Goldberg in the Jeanine Pirro dust-up, yet the former host also claimed she was “bullied” out of her job on the show over conflicts with the African-American comedian, as well as with Joy Behar.

McCain was also asked if she takes any responsibility for the alleged “toxicity” on The View. “Yeah, you know, that’s a really interesting question,” she replied. “Only one person was bullied out of their job and doesn’t work there anymore.” McCain explained she was “totally done” after she got back from maternity leave and Joy Behar made a remark that left her in tears.

Meghan McCain specifically recalled an on-air squabble with Behar, during which McCain says she tried to ease the tension by saying, “Joy, you missed me so much when I was on maternity leave! You missed fighting with me!” Behar replied, “I did not. I did not miss you zero.”

As far as McCain’s relationship with Goldberg, she claimed that was a bridge she did not want to burn, saying she’s an “American icon” and “I adore her.” However, siding against Judge Jeanine Pirro and naming the conservative commentator the “worst guest” she ever had on The View may have alienated McCain from many who made Pirro’s former Fox News show one of the highest-rated programs, even beating every primetime show on MSNBC.
